Timeline

08/26/24 – Present

Faxon Law New Haven Road Race

Madison’s first event with JB Sports was the Faxon Law New Haven Road Race, where she played a role in bringing together over 5,000 participants from more than 48 states, including elite athletes with Olympic experience. Leading up to the event, she created engaging email newsletters for promotion, collaborated closely with sponsors, coordinated with vendors, wrote timey press releases, and executed a strategic social media marketing strategy.

On race day, Madison took charge of training volunteers, overseeing registration, and ensuring the event ran smoothly while providing real-time social media updates. After the race, she and her team at JB Sports expressed appreciation to sponsors through thank-you packages including all the media attention the race received, managed invoice payments, and ensured that all elite athletes and top finishers received their checks and awards.

This year was particularly special for Madison, as she had the opportunity to witness a meaningful partnership between Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen (DESK) in New Haven, CT, and Stop & Shop, facilitating a big check presentation for Stop & Shop’s generous donation through their sponsorship of the New Haven Road Race.

Benhaven Walk for Autism

Madison served as the event coordinator for the Benhaven Walk for Autism at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven, CT—a mission-driven community event supporting individuals and families affected by autism. She led all aspects of event planning, marketing, sponsor relations, and on-site logistics, bringing together hundreds of participants, donors, and volunteers. Thanks to her coordination and dedication, the event successfully raised over $100,000 to benefit Benhaven’s programs and services.

Jamie’s Run 5K for Connecticut Children’s

In the final year of Jamie’s Run 5K, Madison played a pivotal role in promoting this heartfelt event, which honored the memory of Jamie Knotts and supported Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. She led comprehensive marketing efforts, including social media campaigns, email outreach, and sponsor engagement, to maximize participation and awareness. The event raised over $670,000 to fund pediatric cancer clinical trials and provide financial assistance to families in need.

Bartlett & Grippe Hot COCO 5K, Walk & Kids Fun Run

Madison led the pre-event marketing for the Hot COCO 5K, Walk & Kids Fun Run, one of JB Sports’ signature fall events held in Cheshire, CT. She managed all promotional efforts leading up to race day, including email campaigns, social media strategy, sponsor features, and community outreach to boost registration and engagement. The event benefited Abilities Without Boundaries, a local nonprofit that empowers adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through job training, employment opportunities, and daily support services. Madison also participated in the race, completing her first 5K while working at JB Sports.
